A Note From The Publisher.........

You cannot get away from the fact that now, more than ever, Country music and line dancing go hand in hand whether you like it or not. Line dancing has been a saviour of many Country music clubs and we notice that some of the so called line dance acts are having alter egos and going out to play purely Country music. I always did wonder why so many so called line dance socials had Country acts booked but the dj played alternative music. They never do book pop acts!

Having visited quite a number of festivals in the last couple of months, it is good to see the constant upsurge in attendance at them with a large proportion of those people being line dancers. It doesnıt matter whether you are a listener, a line dancer, or both as long as we all get on together and support the scene like so many have this summer! It has been wonderful to see. The best attended by far was the recent Wolvestock festival which I know is very popular, one factor being it is free to go in apart from the car parking fee. It is a pity more council authorities canıt take the same initiative. I think the UC Dance Stage did us proud this year in particular, which was well looked after by Gaye Teather and our dj John Cheshire. I know from your comments that you thought the same. The weather was exceptionally kind to us too during this festival.

This month, September, we shall all be converging on Fort San Antone for the British Country Music Hall of Fame & Awards weekend. The ticket sales are well up on last year, so get in before the 14th to qualify for the cheaper ticket price and ensure that you will join the rest of us to see the fabulous Lennerockers, Donna Wylde, Travis Logan, West Virginia, Carol Stevens & JD Bros, Clarissa, The Diablos, Brian Hughes & The Lonesharks and more. Not forgetting being part of the audience when those you have voted for get awards, or those that have been nominated are inducted into the British Country Music Hall of Fame. You will find a lot of your favourite artists in the audience too. The theme for the event is fun, so be prepared to laugh along with the acts. Remember too, there are two dance floors for any kind of dancing. See you there.

Keep listening, keep dancing, keep it Country.
